Today's composites give increasingly better performance for shade, luminosity and their aptitudes for polishing and brightness. Before carrying out a dental restoration, it is above all an act of aesthetic rehabilitation in the anterior zone, it is important to understand how the different structures of the natural tooth (pulp, dentin and enamel) influence the colour.

Clinical observation of the tooth and smile, and optical performances of modem composites solicit a tri-dimensional stratification method and hence obtain an aesthetic quintessence of the materials.

We have developed an original composite stratification method for direct restoration in the anterior zone. An aesthetic project carried out in a laboratory enables the confection of 3 silicon keys in order to materialise different thickness and morphologies of the coronal dental structure the application of successive layers of composite to the tooth is guided into the three dimensions of space using 2 of the interlocking keys. The composite is pressed and photopolymerized through the silicon key. This technique leads to the natural and functional integration of the composite restoration.
